The plan specifically highlights my aspirations towards personal development. My hope is to be the best performingorganizational leader with proficiency qualities. According to Boyce et al. (2010),being a leader requires one to possess inherent characteristics such as motivation, self-control, and patience.These characteristics define a person first as a leader and secondly, in relation to their interaction with others. I will use my knowledge and skills to foster good relations with employees effectively. This will help me attain organizations objectives, hence rise to assistant or middle level management within four years of excellent performance as an assistant or middle level manager.Objectives * My LDP consists of short-term, medium, and long-term realisti c plans and objectives that I seek to fulfill in my career. They will be likely achievable within the second month of employment, first quarter and in 1-3 years respectively. * Short term: To improve leadership skills through focusing on both negative and positive feedback from workmates. * Medium term: To improve my daily performance through effective and consistent decision making policy * Long-term: Enhance sustainable and continuous performance of employees through promoting teamwork and their motivation at workplace. * Toimprovemyproductivity and make my leadership better, I will need to understand the organizations objectives. Learning from managers and senior managers through consultations will help me rise ranks to managerand senior manager levels.However,consultations will necessitate immediate settling into the position for immediate delivery. Though my target period will be in the second month, I would push to achieve this within the shortest time.The first quarter will i nvolve achieving departmental and organizational goals through consistent implementation of sounddecision-makingstrategies so as to ensure fair treatment through agitating for increased cooperation between management and workers. Some of the expected results includereduced cases of conflicts, increased responsiveness and promotion of an ethical leadership style. As a result of good leadership, high standard relationshipsbetween staffand customers will be maintained. I will lead by example through making decisions that promote respect and mutual trust among employees. I will implement and emphasize on fairness in decisions. To achieve this, I will be required to learn from my seniors and make a constant review of my learning resources.The purpose of ensuring continued motivation to employees is to facilitate a functional teamwork that guarantees high performance and productivity(Bradt, Check, Pedraza, 2006). In order to achieve this, I will stimulate the vision of unity and commitme ntto all stake holders while maintaining a participative working environment.An important aspect of a leader lies in ensuring that employees are recognized and appreciated. This will help employees identify with the company. In addition, the significant role of teamwork in improving performance and inspiring a cohesive work environment cannot be overlooked (Topping, 2002).
